Rosie Carney Shares “Orchid” | Debut LP Out Jan 2019 via Akira Records

Singer-songwriter Rosie Carney recently shared a new single, “Orchid” which expands upon her typical production work. The result is what she calls “the most layered song on (her forthcoming) album” with its strings, drums and guitars.

“I could just hear the strings while working on the demo,” she said. “When it came time to actually track them, we used Radiohead’s ‘Nude’ and some of Lana Del Rey’s dreamier tracks as a reference—two artists that are huge influences on me.”

Both “Orchid” and previous single “Thousand” will be appearing on Carney’s debut album, Bare. The album covers a time when she was struggling with mental health issues, questioning her personal identity, and fighting for creative control within the major label system. She credits her songwriting from that time with empowering her throughout everything.

Bare will be released in Jan. 2019 via Akira Records, and until then Carney will be touring Europe as both a headliner and a supporting act.
