Noble Kids Share “Rain Hat” | New LP Out 2/22
Brooklyn-based trio Noble Kids announced their sophomore studio album, Messy Pretty, on Nov. 9, along with first single, “Rain Hat.” Described as blending shiny pop with gritty indie-rock, the songs on Messy Pretty come from personal experience and interpretation with queerness and identity.
Messy Pretty is a very human record,” says guitarist Bryce Barsten. “There is a sheen to it, but it’s messy at its core and direct in a way that made us all a little uncomfortable while making it. That was a new feeling, and it became an important feeling to embrace. It pushed us.”
The authenticity found on Messy Pretty came from the band wanting to move away from the personal constraints they felt after making their first album. From the honest lyrics about love, to the unembellished production process, Noble Kids created an album intent on uncovering the sincerity in life in the modern world.
Noble Kids has one acoustic performance set for December in Brooklyn, and Messy Pretty will be released February 22, 2019.
